interior design trends emerging this month
Here at Mobius Home, we specialise in all aspects of interior design. As we are approaching the end of the year, we see the new trends emerging, and our specialist design partners had this to say…
“There are several finishes and colourways that are always firm favourites within residential design. From a classic minimal bedroom colour palette to provide a calming, restful space, to kitchens with marble or stonework tops, to provide a classic aesthetic combined with a very practical, long-lasting finish.
There is a wide range of styles within the residential design world, depending on the type of home and the people living in it. Whether it be a room full of colour and pattern, such as a classic chintz, or the minimal style with a very clean, simplistic selection of materials, you will always find a good blend of styles being repeated year on year.
The drivers behind it will be warming tones with splashes of colours to living areas and then if a more urban setting you may have harder finishes, such as exposed brick, which provide a nod to the core of the building or a previous use.
Wooden floors, whether they are original floorboards or newly laid vinyl planks, will always be a hit and then adding a splash of texture and colour with a rug and soft furnishings, gives a great basis to develop the overall aesthetic scheme.
An area that always jumps out and provides the obvious personalisation to a space if artwork, which can be a piece by a favourite artist or one that simply caught the eye, or it can be a gallery of jumbled family photos and personal memories.
The design rules around finishes and colours that used to change year on year, have and will continue to blur to allow people the freedom to combine all the classic design features within their homes.”
